Irit Heimann lives and creates her unique Babushkas in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Her type of work: Acrylic paintings on canvas, digitally integrating elements of augmented reality.
The painted object: Traditional Nesting dolls (in all works).
She creates these traditional nesting dolls paintings, with their heavy burden of values and morality, on canvas using acrylic paint and displays them in a manner that contradicts the original familiar essence, questioning the survivability and feasibility of the values they represent.
Are we going to enjoy quality time with our children in 2025? Or will we rather play with the application in the Blockchain investment portfolio we foster? Will money and material eventually triumph over family values? Will progress manage to erode the values of family, unity, home and legacy?

What importance do we place nowadays on the preservation of the values of old?
At what point in time will family values be given titles such as “folk remedy” and left behind?
Irit’s work examines all these questions - through the humorous presentation of the quintessential conflict, in a manner that creates affection for the Nesting dolls and a real sense of wonder in all our hearts.
The integration of a world long gone (such of tradition, naivety and innocence) into today’s complicated reality is presented to us in the form of the beloved nesting doll - the Matryoshka.
The childish character of Heimann’s works projects hope, dream and innocence and serves as an inner expression of her individual experiences; they succeed in creating an endless world of details within a stable and closed composition. At first sight, the contrast between the old and the new, modern world seems straightforward, yet is in fact a complex array created by Heimann through her works.
